🛩️Chiota Aviation is hosting a free family event at the Waco Airport on Saturday from 10 AM - 12 PM. There will be free coffee and breakfast items along with a free discovery flight giveaway. The whole family will be able to learn about flying, see airplanes, and meet some pilots. This is a great opportunity to learn what it takes to become a pilot locally and encourage your kids love for airplanes. For more information check out Chiota Aviation on IG.

🏊🚲🏃‍♂️Waco is gearing up for the Ironman 70.3 event on Sunday based at Indian Spring Park. Expect 7,500 athletes and spectators in town this weekend. The bike route heads toward Robinson, turns around in Chilton, and avoids China Spring. There’s also an IronKids race on Saturday. Road closures include University Parks Dr. and Washington Street Bridge. Check the website for full route details and impacted roads on race day.

🐶🐶Waco’s animal shelter, now the Pet Circle Regional Animal Center, will continue serving McLennan County after the city council renewed its contract with the county. The shelter, which takes in animals from 12 cities and unincorporated areas, faces overcrowding but plans to expand facilities. Over 800 animals are currently in care. Check out the available animals to adopt here.
