❄️ Waco's Winter Chill: No Snow, But the Cold Stays

People often say, “If it’s going to be this cold, at least make it snow,” but it looks like Waco’s one shot at winter snow has come and gone. While most of the city was prepared and taking precautions, still remembering the Snowpocalypse of 2021, this cold snap won’t bring the white stuff. The chilly temps are sticking around through the weekend, but expect things to warm back up into the 60s by next week. Stay warm, Waco!

🍴 Marie's Bistro is Opening Soon at the Waco Airport!

You might recognize the name from Marie’s Wine Bar, and now they’re bringing some of Waco’s best dishes to the Waco Airport! Serving up favorites from Baris, Pivovar, and Sascees Southern Eatery, Marie’s Bistro is the perfect spot to grab a bite while watching planes take off and land. 🎉 Waco Gets a Community Pool

The grand opening of the newly-renovated Doris Miller Community Pool will happen at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 25 for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, light refreshments, giveaways, and free open swim! This upgraded indoor facility now offer four competitive lanes, space for fitness classes, swim lessons, and more. More info here.

🚣‍♂️ Waco's Next Wave: Rowing Sets Sail on the Brazos

The Brazos River is making waves in the sports scene, positioning Waco as a rising rowing destination with some of the best conditions in the country. The Greater Waco Sports Commission is leading the charge, planning to build a new dock and plans to host the major regattas in 2025. Not only will this bring economic growth by attracting traveling teams for training, but it also opens up rowing to more local folks. With nearly 50% of female rowers earning college scholarships, it’s a game-changing opportunity for youth in Waco. This is just another exciting addition to Waco's growing sports culture. 🐕Help Clear the Kennels at Pet Circle Waco

Pet Circle Waco needs our help now. Their large dog kennels are over capacity, and they’re aiming to find homes for 10 pups today. Pet Circle Regional Animal Center is dedicated to caring for stray, injured, and surrendered animals in McLennan County while working to end euthanasia for healthy, adoptable pets. Right now, they’re counting on the Waco community to step up. You can adopt one of their many spayed or neutered dogs and take them home today. Not quite ready for a permanent commitment? Baylor Sports 🐻🐻

🎟️ Football: After finishing the 2024 season strong, Baylor Football just announced that 2025 Season Tickets are now on sale. With seven home games, it should be a great season! One highlight is that Auburn football will be coming to Waco on August 30.
