  • 4th of July Weekend Event & Live Music Rundown 🎉

Here are some of my favorite recent community feedback comments:
“I’ve lived here for years and felt like I never knew what was coming, only what’s just happened. That’s changed with your publication.”
“I really look forward to the Waco Buzz. I’m trying to get as many of my friends involved so they can know what’s happening during the week.”

Happy 4th of July!

Your quick refresher for Fourth on the Brazos

As the sun rises on July 4 (or whenever this lands in your inbox), here’s everything you need to know to make the most of Waco’s biggest summer night. Fireworks, music, food trucks, and more—Waco shows up for this one every year.

🎇 Fireworks
The main show happens at Touchdown Alley, McLane Stadium with gates opening at 6 p.m. You’ll catch DJ Eddie Rose at 6:30, Sister Sledge rocking at 7:45, a brief patriotic ceremony at 9:10, and then the big fireworks blast-off at 9:15 sharp.

It’s free to get in, but heads up—clear bags are required, and there will be security checks with magnetometers. Plan to bring your lawn chair, blanket, and cooler (no glass). The food trucks and local vendors will be there with everything from tacos to funnel cakes, and yes, there’s an ATM onsite.

🛶 Where to Watch
The stadium is the place to be if you want the full concert and food truck vibe, but the crowds are big. Locals also love grabbing spots along the river near Baylor’s campus or the Ferrell Center for a quieter view.

If you want a hidden gem, park at the Mayborn Museum and walk the pedestrian bridge to get a chill view with an easy exit. Indian Spring Park downtown is another good laid-back spot with a direct view and food trucks nearby.

Got a boat? Launch from Brazos Park East and watch from the water—just be sure you’re out of the fireworks fallout zone by 8:30 p.m. The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame parking lot also gives a great elevated view with fewer people.

🚗 Parking Tips
Free parking includes McLane Lots 2, 3, 4 (handicap), the Ferrell Center, Texas Ranger Hall of Fame lot, East Campus Garage, and Baylor campus lots. Avoid medians—they tow. Paid parking is available at Brazos Parking across from the stadium.

🏡 Not Feeling the Crowd?
You can always watch the fireworks live on KWTX-TV or their Facebook starting at 9:15 p.m. Perfect for staying cool and comfy at home.

🔥 Stay Safe
No personal fireworks, no pets (except service animals), no glass bottles, and no pop-up tents inside the stadium. Leave the fireworks to the pros and bring sunscreen, bug spray, and your best summer vibe.

🔥 Pro Tip: If you love fireworks and want round 2, Speegleville FD puts on a show on Saturday night at Speegleville Elementary School.
