BUZZWORTHY NEWS

🐻🐻Baylor University welcomed its most diverse freshmen class ever during the 22nd annual Move2BU event. Students and faculty helped new students move into campus, creating a warm, supportive environment. With a record 46,942 applications for the 2024-2025 school year, Baylor’s campus is buzzing with new faces and energy as 4,300 freshmen moved in. Classes begin on August 26th, so expect a lively atmosphere around town!

📚 Got an overdue book since 1971, like Jerry Seinfeld's "Tropic of Cancer"? Well, you’re in luck! The Waco-McLennan County Library is hosting "Fine Forgiveness Month" in September. Return those books—no matter how long you've had them. Damaged book fees will still apply.

🏈🏈Baylor football coach Dave Aranda, under pressure after two losing seasons, is reclaiming his role as the Bears' defensive play-caller, hoping to revive the team. With new offensive coordinator Jake Spavital and key transfers like QB Dequan Finn, there's renewed optimism. Baylor opens their season at home on August 31st against Tarleton—locals should watch as Aranda aims to turn things around.
