🥤 Lucky Wacoan Win Year's Supply of Dr Pepper - The Dr Pepper Museum just announced winners of a year's supply of Dr Pepper this week. Larry Salazar of Waco won at the Museum’s birthday celebration on May 11. Want to win next year? Visit the Museum and register before May 2025, or join the birthday party for a chance! 🚘Expect Delays - Yesterday, TxDOT began installing raised medians on Waco Dr from 6th to 8th Street, closing inside lanes in both directions. Expect peak-hour delays until the project wraps up by year-end. The $300,000 project, handled by Encino Landscape, aims to "enhance safety" for drivers. Enjoy the detours, Waco!

LOCAL RESTAURANT SPOTLIGHT

L&L Hawaiian located at 300 S. 6th St, Suite E

L&L Hawaiian BBQ was founded in Honolulu in 1952 and is still family owned with over 200 locations. The Waco location was taken over by Jonny and Lucy in 2022, driven by their passion for good food and the dream of opening a restaurant to share their cultural cuisines. Jonny, who was born in Killeen to a military family, grew up in Hawaii cooking with his mom and grandma, and he now manages the kitchen. He met Lucy in college and won her over with his cooking! They both have years of restaurant experience and often visited many L&L’s in Hawaii when visiting family. The menu showcases the diverse cultures that have influenced Hawaii, with dishes like Japanese Chicken Katsu, French-influenced Garlic Shrimp, and Korean Kalbi Short Ribs, and classic Hawaiian dishes like Spam musubi and Loco Moco. All the meals are cooked from scratch and served with Aloha. Visit L&L to enjoy a taste of paradise in the heart of Texas!
