• 🔖Midweek Trivia can be found in locations around Waco throughout the week. Wednesday and Thursday nights seem to be the prime timeframe. Take a look at each place you can participate at:

• 🚤Drag Boat Racing on the Brazos is set to take place at Brazos Park East on Saturday and Sunday, featuring boats reaching speeds up to 200 mph. The event attracts racers and fans nationwide, providing an exciting atmosphere with lawn chairs lining the river.

• 🙋1000 Friends of Waco is hosting an open meeting at Main Event this morning from 10:30-11:30. This monthly gathering is an invitation to speak into the direction of downtown Waco. Your opinion matters especially in light of the downtown plan recently revealed. Read below for more information.

CIVIL NEWS

Waco City Council has adopted a Strategic Roadmap for downtown's 100-acre development, set to unfold over 12 to 20 years. This plan emphasizes Waco's identity with districts named after local history, such as Barron's Branch and Waco Square. It includes infrastructure improvements, walkable parks, and civic spaces from the 2023 Downtown Implementation Plan. Key projects feature a riverfront convention center, a performing arts complex, and a multi-use sports-entertainment venue. The development will progress through four phases, each involving community engagement via townhalls, stakeholder meetings, and online outreach.
